We all just wanna be happy but happiness just isn’t something that you arrive at. It’s not a destination stop or around the corner - it is *the* corner.
When you’re chasing for something, whether that’s money, success or whatever that is - and think to yourself ‘Only when ____ happens, then I’ll be happy’, then your life will never begin.
The point is, your life is happening right now - all the setbacks, heartbreaks, misunderstandings, broken promises, losses, overwhelming burdens, guilt and all the drunk happiness, love, acceptance, warm embraces, closure, fulfilment, small wins, sun-kissed skin - everything from the littlest of joy to the biggest heartfelt pain - these are all the very human experiences that make up the essence of life.
And while happiness comes in waves, sometimes sadness teaches you more lessons than happiness ever will and that’s valid.
Let go of what you can’t control and be proactive; change doesn’t happen overnight. It only helps if you don’t bury or spiral yourself deeper. The more we recognise that life is really about the journey, not the destination, that’s where our lives truly begin and that’s how we can make the most out of it.
So try your very best and most importantly, take all the time you need. Over time, you’ll see progress.
Meanwhile, don’t forget to create happiness even on your worst days. It’s a lot more within your reach than you think.
